Living Room Design For Small Condo

In 1999, interior designer Laura Bohn and her husband purchased the then nearly-abandoned Beaux Arts landmark, the County National Bank, at West 14th Street and Eighth Avenue, and decided to convert it into condos. By 2000, the 1907-building housed 11 apartments, and Bohn and her husband decided to make their home in one of them.

Now, 18 years later, the couple has decided to part ways with the apartment, and have listed it on the market for $3.25 million. The loft-style home measures approximately 2,700 square feet, and currently features one-bedroom, two bathrooms, and plenty of outdoor space.

The apartment opens up into the kitchen, which comes fitted with quartz counters, a host of stainless steel appliances including a Miele oven, and a breakfast bar that comfortably seats four. The sprawling living and dining areas are right in front of the kitchen; the sunken living room has 14-foot-tall ceilings, and has a wall of floor-to-ceiling glass windows that also provide access to the apartment’s private, landscaped garden.

The master bedroom and bathroom are located in the eastern portion of the loft, and are separated by a patio—a little private oasis of sorts that also provides light to both the rooms. The solarium-style bathroom has two separate dressing areas, and a walk-in shower and a tub.

Aside from all that, the apartment also has a small lofted space that can be accessed through a spiral staircase in the living room; the space is currently being used as an office, but could easily be used as an additional bedroom. Stribling’s Pamela D’Arc is the listing agent on the property.
