Lighting Ideas Retail

HIGH POINT — Two of the industry’s best-known furniture store designers couldn’t be further apart in the way they use color to create better shopping experiences.

One is all about bold color on walls — also ceilings — and the drama that color can bring to a store that’s typically filled with a sea of bland brown and beige furniture. The other turns more to subtle, often neutral color when it comes to store walls — grays and warmer tones — to avoid distraction from the star of the show and leans on texture as the more important way to draw interest and distinction.
