The 2015 ShowHouse, Vestavia's Hill's Upton Estate, will run until May 3, with each room decorated by local interior designers and decorators including: Jay Howton & Assoc., Habitation, Birmingham Wholesale, Summer Classics, Hollywood Pool & Spas, Scandinavian Design, Virginia College School of Design, Umphrey Interiors, Lynne Coker Interiors, Griffith Art Gallery, Isabella Palmer Designs, Stock & Trade Design, Urban Home Market and Laurl Designs. Tickets are $20 and $15 for groups of 20 or more. The Upton Estate is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and from Sunday from 2 p.m. till 5 p.m. The over 6,700 square-foot home was bought by the Uptons in 1998. It sits on more than 10 acres of wooded land in Vestavia and was designed in 1987 by Barry DeLozier of Turn Key New House. Inspired by an English country house, the home features a breakfast room, a master suite, three other upstairs bedrooms and a den with a fireplace. The Decorators' ShowHouse Cafe will also be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m., with pastries, and boxed lunches for $5 and $10, respectively. This year, the house will also host decorating seminars. On Wednesday, April 22 Bill Aroosian will host Creating an Outdoor Room. Lynne Coker will host Painting 101 on Monday, April 27 and Perry Umphrey will host Properly Displaying Art and Collectibles on Wednesday, April 29. Call 969-8033 for seminar reservations. All seminars start at 1:30 p.m. Items in each room will be for sale as well as handmade, artisanal items from local artists in the Symphony Shop.
